Mr. Bell is a trial attorney who concentrates his practice in defending physicians, specialized health care providers, and attorneys who are being sued in professional negligence actions. He has handled cases for radiologists, obstetricians, internal medicine physicians, family practice physicians, ER physicians, as well as nurse anesthetists. He also represents attorneys in legal malpractice cases. Mr. Bell was a trial attorney in a medical malpractice case where a not guilty verdict was obtained for a family practice physician who was sued for allegedly failing to diagnose a congenital condition in an infant in Cook County. Mr. Bell also defends trucking companies and construction companies in catastrophic injury and death cases. Mr. Bell also handles cases in which security professionals and police officers are accused of civil rights violations. In addition, he handles general premises liability cases and property damage actions.

Mr. Bell has also handled numerous appeals. Of those appeals, the case of Bogenberger v. Pi Kappa Alpha Corp., 2016 IL App (1st) 150128, 56 N.E. 3d 1, 404 Ill. Dec. 438 (1st Dist. 2016) received significant media exposure. In Bogenberger, a Northern Illinois University fraternity was accused of hazing in the death of a freshman pledge. Mr. Bell and Ms. Amy Anderson were successful in obtaining a dismissal of the counts against the owner of the fraternity house where the alleged hazing occurred. Mr. Bell and Ms. Anderson’s dismissal was then upheld on appeal in the First District. Other decisions include, Belluomini v. Stratford Green Condominium Association, 346 Ill. App. 3d 687, 805 N.E. 2d 701, 282 Ill. Dec. 82 (2nd Dist. 2004), and Gloria Jean Sykes v. Cook County Probate Division, et. al., 837 F. 3d 736 (7th Cir. 2016).

Mr. Bell was a Judicial Extern clerk for The Honorable Judge Thomas Quinn in the Tax and Miscellaneous Remedies section of the Cook County Circuit Court, and has acted as a guest judge for the Illinois State University Regional Mock Trial Tournament in Normal, Illinois.
